3 days in May - A poem

Tastes like summer, drops of condensation on your mirror
Pages will turn, under the sun you’ll burn
Chicken and rice for dinner, underdogs will become winners

Smells like it’ll rain soon, your life is about to change too
There’s beauty in going alone, hair flying out the window
There’s puddles on cricket grass and an ice cold drink in my green glass

Feels like shimmering stars and dances in small lit up bars
Open the box, surprises will spill out and lead you to eighteen diamond door knobs
Cheer, parade around a bus and fill the cup with all your trust

Sounds like the clouds are embracing each other, skies will light up
Replays of texts every second I get, the biggest surprise that I’ve ever met
This shuttle has to go over the net and remember my footprints on soil that’s fresh and wet

Looks like the huge red circle I didn’t know I was walking in, meets the start today and we celebrate this glorious win
Light bulbs are replaced, people are placed
Books will be bought, lessons will be taught
Fairies will dust you with magic, blow kisses and you will catch it
