Bliss - A poem

Tonight is littered with several camera flashes in the balcony under a glowing moon
Your favourite chips are on the table, the girls are huddled in the bathroom
I’ll sip coffee in the snow globe mug, I’ll get you ice for your coke
Laughs will bubble, girls will giggle
Tired eyes, but somehow we’ll stay afloat

Sway in sync with this beat, go around the circle, what do you want to eat?
Swap heels with me, dance your way through this entire playlist
Dinner at midnight under the warmth of fireflies in the park, bumbling under summer mist
Animal patterned shirt, frilly floral skirt
Face glistens with sweat, but the night isn’t over yet

Make the music louder, remember the choreography
Whip out the white board and Pictionary cards, just be careful while playing darts
Down ten chicken wings and spend the entire night dancing
Hugs at the door, cards splayed out on top of the rug on the floor
Shiny hair, summer skin
Tell us where you’ve been

Fill my mug with cola, she brought cookies and he brought chips with fish
Oh my god it’s so hot and you say “go stand in front of the fridge”
Sit around the coffee table, glide ice cubes over your cheeks
Don’t scream when the door creaks
Sway and jump till your legs feel weak

Green flowy dress, headbands and gems
Clock ticks, card tricks, bowls stacked in a mess
Legs throb, a sweet kind of soreness because you know it came from dancing till dawn
Dew drops dot grass on the lawn, awake to see you up with a gentle yawn
