Emotions, and us - By Ashita - Guest writer for June 🌸

Anger: A Slow Poison

Anger we let out is red like sapphire

Burning and untamable like a fire,

Which we make to keep ourselves warm

But eventually causes us harm.

It is like a whirlpool of displeasure

Something that we cannot measure,

Which takes over our body manipulating our soul

And makes us commit the greatest of fouls.

It is now time to free from the clutches of this monster

Or it would soon become an unremovable barrier,

As it would eat up joyous memories, have our minds under its cruel control

There’ll be nothing left within for ourselves to console.

Take deep breathes in, deep breathes out

Relax the mind, let the strength and happiness within you shout.

As we feel freed with the anger fading away

As though a weight is lifted up on our shoulders.
